I believe open communication, trust, and respect are critical to any relationship. Honesty and compassion are among other key attributes. These are some of my traits and the traits I look for in those close to me. Other traits include wit, humor, ability to be goofy/silly and laugh at one's self, and the ability to approach experiences, even old/repeating ones, with the wonder and passion of a youth's eyes. Nature and the environment are important to me, especially the world's oceans. My primary activities include scuba diving (especially Pacific coast and Hawaii ), hiking, photography (getting into digital), gourmet cooking, travel, theatre, and of course my home. Other activities include movies, horseback riding, and museums. While I am a high-tech professional, I have also done professional photography and teaching. Since health is important to me, I work out on a regular basis, primarily treadmill, rowing machine, and swimming. While I enjoy scuba diving, travel, luxury, and new adventures, simple things such as a walk along a beach, watching a sunrise or sunset, camping in the woods, going out to a movie or for dinner, and a quiet night at home bring equal pleasure and satisfaction.
Describe the kind of person you would like to meet.
I am looking for someone who shares my beliefs and interests. Someone who is open, honest, and approaches life with a "glass half full" rather than "glass half empty" perspective. Compassion for all living creatures and environmentally conscience are important traits. Enjoyable activities should include the ocean and beach, travel, and quiet intimate times.

My most exciting/scariest diving story
Rescuing unfortunate divers off Monastery beach early in my dive experiences was scariest, while diving the swift currents in the Galapagos the most exciting.
My favorite dive destinations
My favorite dive areas are Monterey/Big Sur coastline and off Ni'ihau diving with the monk seals. I never know my next dive trip until it occurs.
